Cagesafe ProductionsCagesafe Productions as a physical entity was born in New Orleans in the wake of the Hurricane Katrina. Following the hurricane, many people found themselves at a new starting point. Most businesses were closed, schools were closed, there was simply no structure or schedule. It was simply a matter of waiting and hoping for the old system to re-implement itself so life could continue, or to forge a new system. For many people this was a time to re-evaluate where their lives were headed and a chance to take control over that direction. In September 2005 several New Orleans residents gathered amongst the rumble and pooled their pennies to procure the minimal equipment needed to form a production company. They quickly generated a script and raised the funds, begging from many of the remaining locals, to shoot a feature. Cagesafe Productions has since completed that feature, "Jack and the Dead Girl (...and the little magic book)", shot several additional shorts, obtained a production office/studio (in need of much repair), and has four more features in preproduction with one slated to begin shooting in May 2007, and one in July 2007. Cagesafe Productions is now creating competitions to bring new talent into the company and to New Orleans, and to help fund the company. Cagesafe Productions also houses several of our artists to ensure their ability to stay in New Orleans and refine their craft. Feel free to make large generous donations to support us in our endeavors. Thank you!
